ERNESTO GARCÍA SÁNCHEZ focuses on deconstructing and reconstructing the elements of painting to investigate the form itself. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Alejandro, and later at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana, Cuba. Inspired by architecture, design, and forms observed in the physical world, García Sánchez’s approach does not use art as a narrative tool. Instead, his work is an introspective inquiry into the essence of painting by highlighting its fundamental components. Through this way, he challenges painting’s traditional flat perspectives, inviting new ways of engagement. García Sánchez has exhibited in group and solo shows worldwide, including Cuba, Mexico, Denmark, and the United States.

ROGER TOLEDO is an abstract artist who develops compositions using geometric patterns, layered textures, and bold colors to create dynamic spatial relationships. Drawing on his training at the Vicentina de la Torre Academy and Instituto Superior de Arte in Cuba, this approach allows him to reflect on both Cuban and universal painting traditions, balancing introspection with experimentation. Rather than adhering to a single style, Toledo’s pieces evolve as unique explorations of form and meaning. Toledo has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows in Cuba, Mexico, Sweden, and the United States. His work can be found in numerous private collections in Europe, Latin America, and the United States.

CHRISTINE CHEN Christine Chen is a curator, art historian, and writer, currently serving as Curatorial Research Assistant at Thomas Nickles Project. Her research focuses on diasporic aesthetics and transnational narratives, examining how themes of migration, memory, and race are expressed in modern and contemporary art. She is particularly committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and positioning visual culture as a legitimate mode of historical narration, especially for communities excluded from written archives. Her curatorial practice embraces community-rooted, cross-cultural approaches that challenge systems of erasure. Christine holds an MA in Modern and Contemporary Art: Critical and Curatorial Studies from Columbia University and an LLB from the University of New South Wales. She has previously held positions at Lehmann Maupin Gallery, Wallach Art Gallery, and the Aboriginal Artists Agency.
